Ron's Rush RoIO Review

This show comes from the 2-week tour Rush did to support the release of the Archives set. As you can see, the set list is exactly the same as for the AFTK tour. This is a great performance, one of the few shows out there to catch the entire AFTK show with no cuts. This is a great sounding show, but probably not quite as good as all the hype surrounding it. True, there are no other full shows that sound this good, but there are better shows out there from this tour missing only one or two songs. Its definitely an audience source, but all the instruments are audible, with a bit of compression towards the mid range. Also, it sounds as if the tape is turning a bit fast. The best part -- no cuts!    (1999-04-01)

Great Rush Bootleg Series

With Sound quality approaching that of Palladium ?77 and the only known boot of the whole show, beginning to end, uncut, from the AFTK/Archives tour (how did they do it? reel to reel? broadcast tape? No cuts!) this is truly the definitive AFTK tour boot, even though Palladium sounds slightly better.   (1999-04-01)

A decent recording, but runs waaaaaay too fast. Performance wise...Rush is amazing.   (2003-12-01)

The Digital Dan
   (Audio - 6.5)

This is an excellent and rare recording from the short Archives tour in May of \'78. The sound quality is great, a bit distant, but all the instruments are loud and clear. This is another recording that sounds markedly better when played very loud. It is the full show without cuts and including the encore. It is definitely a rarity to find an edit free full show from the AFtK / Archives tour. The Palladium show is indeed a bit brighter, but at high volume, this show sounds better to me. A definite must have recording from this era. As with all Digital Reproductions recordings, it\'s only available via free trade and never for sale. Just visit the trading links section to find people that will gladly trade this recording for free.    (1999-04-01)

This version of the show is okay, to say the least. There are many problems, the speed was way to high, and it was a little distant. Niagra Falls Revisited corrects those problems, so you should get that one over this. But, since this is one of the only dates on the short tour, I can recommend this.   (2008-11-19)
