Ron's Rush RoIO Review

Strange that a show this far into the tour would be the first VT release from Digital Reproductions. But here you have it, and a fine boot it is. This production is a matrix of two different audience sources. The result is a great-sounding show with relatively little audience noise. The mix is even, as is the EQ, which really needs no adjustment for this bootleg to be a pleasant listen. Of course, the performance for the hometown crowd is fantastic. There are still one or two small flubs, but the band really sounds tight by this point. Alex's rant this evening revolves around a dream-conversation he had with a snake?.    (2002-08-24)

Kind of strange, this ends up being the first DR release from this tour. It was decided to wait and go through multiple sources before working on one. That was a good idea because this show is not only great sounding, but it is a spirited homecoming for the band. Given everything they'd been through in the 5 years since the previous appearance in Toronto, the anticipation and excitement is quite evident, and I'm not talking about the crowd either. Two sources were used for this production, both are minidisc masters and excellent recordings on their own. But the matrix of the two brings out a depth and character that no single source could bring out. With a little more definition in the bass, this could almost be perfect audience recording. Matrix recordings have one other unique benefit, they reduce the noise of the surrounding crowd. There are virtually no interruptions by the audience because the volume of the crowd is reduced by 50%! The mix is fantastic and each person sounds well represented. Once again the highlights of the show are "The Rhythm Method" Alex's "Dream Sequence" which has the band and the audience in stitches. Once again, many thanks to Barb, Mark, and Paul for the sources so kindly donated for this release. They do the hard work so that we can all enjoy the show. As with all Digital Reproductions release, this is for free trade or blank media trade only. Do not buy, sell or distribute for profit. Help keep the spirit of trading alive and well.    (2002-08-24)

This was one of the first two shows to surface from DR for the VT tour, and what a great show it is! The sound is just incredible, what an awesome mix on it. Like Dan said in he's review the audience was brought down 50%, and this is great no annoying screaming, or whistling into the mic's. The show is very energetic, and the boy's are having fun at home. Alex's rant on La Villa is not one of the better ones, but entertaining. He talks about a Dream! The Bumblebee also did some great art for this show! I especially like the little star in man logo on Spiderman's mask! An all around great boot, and IMHO one of the best so far. A must for any collection.    (2002-10-05)

A nicely married sources which produced a sonically great recording. A full range of sound for loud listening!! The boys sound like they are having some fun in their home turf, and this is pretty early in the tour.    (2003-06-18)
