Brent's Bootlegs
   (Audio - 8)

How could I not love a bootleg that has my name included in the credits? Really though, this is an awesome bootleg in an awesome package. Now you may have heard many things about how this bootleg is the best sounding recording yet of the T4E tour. Well it is (so far)... but you must consider that the competition is pretty weak. Do not buy this bootleg hoping to hear something on par with Animated or Darkness & Light or Mystic Dreams. This is a audience recording. Nor is it as good as the exceptional audience recording "Atmospheric". However, you will not be disappointed with this bootleg. The sound quality is very good and the audience does not interfere with the show. Every song on the T4E show is included on this CD (even the shows on the 1st leg). The bonus material is also very good considering the age. Another cool thing with this release is that it is "reverse indexed". This means that only the actual music makes up the tracks. All the talking and crowd cheers between songs are negatively indexed between tracks. This is a nice feature if you like to set your player to random play. Now on to the packaging -- It is superb. The covers are professionally printed in full color and include many never before seen shots. In addition to the front and back covers there is a inner booklet with many great pictures. Everything is here from the tour busses to pics of the ticket stubs.    (1999-04-01)

Ron's Rush RoIO Review
   (Audio - 8)

I?ll say it right up front: this is easily the best TFE show in circulation. The performance is great, the crowd is really into the show, and best of all is the sound. It?s nearly perfect. Every instrument is very clear and audible, with a dynamic range that makes you feel like you?re actually at the show. The overall sound is VERY reminiscent of the "Mirrors" CD. My copy came on CDR, as a digital copy of the DAT master. A great show!    (1999-04-01)

Cary's Notes
   (Audio - 8)

I concur, this is the best TFE show I've heard to date. Okay, so I've only heard three, but this one kicks ass.? My only complaints are that Alex falls out of the mix at times (in parts of Limelight and Red Sector A), and there's one fan near the recorder who gets in two or three annoying yells during songs. The main show is comparable to any audience boot I've heard except maybe Atmospheric from the bones tour. Good bass, good treble, good mix.? The Phoenix tracks (Big Money/Subdivisions) sound good as well, although they play softer and seem a little muffled. Time and Motion is lacking in comparison. It sounds very much like mic is distant from the stage except for Ged's vocals, which come through loud. Sound quality on T&M is just barely above Autumn Woods & Winter Skies from Prism Records, IMO.? On to the filler material... Sound is less of a strength here. The show comes through kind of harsh, like it was from behind a wall and played very loud. The low end needs a boost. But it is very listenable for a few tracks after you adjust from the stellar main show.    (1999-04-01)

Bill Girton
   (Audio - 8)

An excellent audience recording.? A little crowd noise but it is faint and not disturbing.? The entire band can be heard fine.? This is one of the best Test For Echo show to surface.? This is the same source recording used for To Hear Amazing Things...? This show is a must have for any Rush collection.    (1999-04-01)

I was a ticket holder at this show. I'm lucky the recording turned out very well. There are certainly better aud shows from T4E, but this one is very good.   (2007-01-24)
