The night after the classic "Capture My Thoughts" was recorded. This is one of those very special performances, where the band members add jaunty little changes to every song and it sounds like the tape is running fast they just kick so much ass! However, it did not start that way. Alex breaks his string in the middle of his (great) solo in ?The Spirit of Radio?. Throughout the first 4 songs they seem nervous and tentative and they don?t play all that well. In fact they kind of play poorly, and the take on ?New World Man? is kind of shitty! During ?Subdivisions? though they take off and play just fine. The version of ?Red Sector A? is quite remarkable, and ?Closer to the Heart? is even better than that. ?Marathon? is really very breathtaking here. They take that energy and blow the hell out of you with ?The Trees?, a version equaling the one of the night before! Then somehow they calm down enough to give you the best performance of "Mystic Rhythms". This is the BEST version of the classic, ?Territories? as well. This MAY be Neil?s best drum solo! I could break it down and tell you each and every track that they perform well, but that would take to long! Just assume every song AFTER ?New World Man? is performed amazingly, because they ALL are! What about the sound? Well, it is clearly NOT as good as ?Capture My Thoughts? from the night before, but it is very good anyways. Geddy?s voice is a little to buried throughout the whole show. Not devastatingly at all, but enough to make a point out of it. The biggest problem with this bootleg is Geddy?s bass is a little upfront, which is normally pretty cool, but in this recording the bass is pretty distorted, to the point of it giving more of a buzz than a thud sound. All in all, a very fine worthy recording indeed, another Sirius production worth the trouble. However, easily beat by ?Capture My Thoughts? (another Sirius release).    (1999-04-01)
