The Digital Dan
   (Audio - 7)

A nice audience show from the bands first appearance in Quebec City. Geddy tries very hard tonight to speak as much French as he can, but he confesses to the crowd that his French isn't very good. The mix is pretty good for an arena show. Neil comes through very well, one of the best drum mixes of all the audience sources from this tour. Considering the audience sources from this tour have been lacking in comparison to tours before and after, this is one of the more enjoyable ones out there. The rest of the band sounds right in the mix, occasionally dropping lower in the mix when the mic is moved. All in all, a quite superb performance and pretty much cut free. The only drawback is the woman next to the taper that has a tendency to scream like a banshee between songs. The kind of concert going patron you pray you never have to sit next to! If you need to make a sound affects collection, she would be a good start. No noise reduction or hiss reduction was used in the production, so it is a little more hiss than a master tape, suggesting a 2nd gen source. A special thanks goes out to Tom Fischer for helping to bring out this great show. As with all Digital Reproductions releases, this is for free trade or blank trade only. Not to be bought or sold under any circumstances.    (2001-10-19)

A Nice sounding show from the Signals Tour. With the exception of some lady screaming her lungs out in between songs this is a fine show to listen to. It's interesting to hear Geddy practice up on his French between songs. This show should be in everyone's collection.    (2001-08-01)

This is a really difficult show to judge sound wise. Sometimes, its not so great, other times its pretty damn good, and occasionally its shameful. Making matters more frustrating there is a woman who is the single most annoying person in any bootleg I own, with only the possible exception of the guy in "Canadian Bacon PE" who was lighting fire crackers! She is absolutely awful, just the worst! On a few occasions she is really deafening, other times she gets worse and completely drowns out the music! The crowd as a whole has a sometimes overwhelming roar! Not only that, but there is a noticeable amount of tape hiss. However, after all this moaning I must say this is a decent little show. Despite a short cut at the begining of "Chemistry", its a totally represented show. The performance is easily one of the best I have ever heard! Sometimes they play so fast it sounds like the tape is running fast! This is really some special performance. It is simply not possible to find a better performance of "The Camera Eye"! Also, once again they have fun with "The Spirit of Baseball" and also (on one of the funniest moments on any boot) Alex moans along with 2112 and Geddy goes "did you hear that? What a singer, just like an angel", its extremely funny! Not only that they once again fool around with the "Plumbers of Syrinx". It's the crime of the century that this isn't a really good tape because the show is just magical!!! Huge highs and devastating lows, all in all this show isn't listened to that much by me. Not as good as "Music in the Abstract" or "Signals FLR", but because of the lack of good tapes from this tour, not a bad show. Light years away from a must have though.   (2001-12-02)
