The Digital Dan
   (Audio - 6.5)

Taken from a 1st gen source. The show starts off pretty distant and muddled with a general lack of clarity. But, by the time Chemistry starts, the sound makes a remarkable improvement with better balance and top end resolution. Still not spectacular by any means, but a more listenable recording. I would recommend this show more for completists and attendees as there are much better Signals shows for the listening. Thanks again to Greg R. for providing the source used for this production. No noise reduction or hiss reduction was used. As with all Digital Reproductions releases, this is for free trade or blank trade only. Not to be bought or sold under any circumstances. Part of the "DRE 4th Anniversary Boxset".    (2003-07-18)

It's always nice to hear a recording from my favorite Rush era...THE GOLDEN 80'S!!.? First 30 minutes or so of the recording is bit muffled. Afterwards, the recording really starts to sound pretty good and show some warmth, and the tape is very clear throughout.? Red Barchetta is quite nice with rich bass?and good extensions.? My fav...The Analog Kid is played with power and speed.? Geddy's voice is tough to hear overall.? Neil and Alex both come through fairly well.? The left channel occasionally suffers from short burst of "tape skips" (??). They were on the 1st gen cassette tapes; however, perhaps they are on the master (??).? This rare show is not in the same league as the Uniondale, Dayton or the London shows, but it holds its own very well.?

Lineage:? Master > 1st Gen > Nakamichi CR-7A > Sony PCM-R500 w/SBM > Sony CDR-W33 > EAC > MKW (SHN) > Cool Edit Pro > CDWav > MKW (Master SHN)    (2003-07-18)
