The Digital Dan (Audio - 8)
We've tried for a long time to locate the full Providence show without much luck. Every time we'd find a new source, it turned out either to be incomplete, inferior quality or an outright deception. Finally, a legit source was found complete and intact with no cuts during any of the songs. This is a fantastic show from the MP tour, full of atmosphere and excellent sound quality. This is one of the few old audience recordings that sounds good over a home stereo, even more so for the warm analog sound it delivers. A neat thing about these old shows is hearing Geddy introducing "Tom Sawyer". Given how popular and well known the song is now, it is kind of nostalgic to remember a time when that song was brand new. This show can't be recommended enough and belongs as one of the 5 best MP audience sources now out there. No hiss reduction or noise reduction used in this production. As with all Digital Reproductions releases, this is for free trade or blank media trade only. Please do not buy, sell or distribute for profit. Keep the spirit of trading alive and well. Part of the "DRE 4th Anniversary Boxset". (2003-07-19)

I've had this source on DAT for sometime now and asked Digital Dan to remaster it for the "DRE 4th Anniversary" release. ?Sound of the tape has much warmth and that good analogue sound to it.? The taper seems a bit far from the stage, for you can hear the reverb of Neil's drums reflecting off the walls. Nonetheless, the recording is pretty darn good.? The bass and the overall clarity lack just slightly in comparison to the Anaheim or the Chicago shows, which are both better, IMO.? My personal rating is a split grade with majority of the show being VG+ with some spots bordering on VG+/EX-.? Hope you will not be disappointed with this MP recording.? Would it have been so difficult to throw in a short version of Lakeside Park on the twenty-fourth of May?? We can only dream that Rush would step outside of their structured ways, eh?? Lastly, a sincere "Thank You" to whoever taped this show and to the "wild and crazy" guy who generously loaned me his tapes!! Lineage:? Master > 1st Gen > 2nd Gen > Nakamichi CR-7A >Sony PCM-R500 w/SBM > Sony CDR-W33 > EAC > MKW (SHN) > Cool Edit Pro > CDWav > MKW (Master SHN) (2003-07-19)

Wow, what a show.. Oh yeah this ins't the end of the All The World's a Stage album, it's from Providence, Rhode Island in 1981.. This is a very nice sounding show from the Moving Pictures tour. It features no improv jams or anything, but who expects that from Rush anyways ? I'd also rate it up in there in the top five shows from this tour. Not as good as the Chicago show but pretty damn good.
