The Digital Dan
   (Audio - 8)

Taken from the second Gen tape. The sound quality is actually great for the time. New York always ensures enthusiastic crowd and likewise influences the performance. In most ways it is almost a tragedy that Rush played a set during this tour that was 20min shorter than just about any other tour they've done. The performance is excellent and the crowd is very enthusiastic. No hiss or noise reduction was used and very little EQ, so this is pretty much the raw source with the usual fixes. Once again thanks to John Amato for the source. As with all Digital Reproductions releases, this is for free trade only and not to be bought or sold. Not a bad recording, I dunno about EX- tho.. To listen at a low volume the audio seems somewhat "hidden" to me.. dunno if that makes sense. It is clear, there is some low end, not too much high-end detail, but good crowd, not overwhelming in the recording and definately fun to listen to at any volume "moderate or above". I will say this, I think perhaps it plays a bit to fast.. could be me..   (2008-12-22)
