Another FINE production from I-VENT!! OK folks, I'm just kidding. After listening to Discs 3&4 of Ductile Iron, I have to resort to humor to keep my sanity. The 29th show (Discs 1&2) does sound fairly good. I would rate that a VG with a potential of being VG+ if a lower Gen source is remastered properly. Let's start with the first night. It's very boomy with the sound compressed in the middle frequencies. The treble is boosted to compensate for the lack thereof, so the tape hiss is amplified. Like I said, if a lower Gen source is found then I think it would be a wonderful show to listen to. The audience is fairly quiet during the songs, but gets a bit loud during between the songs.

The second night....it's pretty bad. It's a solid VG- bordering G+. VERY distant recording with a perpetual hiss/static running over the music. Maybe the taper was in the arena halls when he/she recorded it. I couldn't bear it too long before I took the CD out of my stereo. And throughout all 4 disc are those annoying "clicks" before the beginning of each song.    (2000-02-22)
