The Digital Dan
   (Audio - 7.5)

One of the earlier shows from the HYF tour. An excellent performance with the band in good energy so early in the tour. The sound fluctuates from the beginning of the show till the end. No big changes, just gets progressively better. Early on it sounds a bit like "taped in a can" effect but by the second half of the show, it sounds quite nice. This is one of those recordings where the louder the band gets, the better the recording sounds. The version of La Villa on this show is absolutely killer. The band even has a little fun with the audience by having a more pronounced pause during the "Hey" section of 2112. Alex once again is having fun with the lyrics of "Temples of Syrinx" including some mad laughs and a lot more dialogue than on other shows from this tour. All in all, a nice performance to have and it's 1st gen.??As with all Digital Reproductions recordings, it's only available via free trade and never for sale. Ron's Rush RoIO Guide

An early HYF concert. These shows are fun to have because they sounded a bit different than those from the second leg, especially in Lifeson's case. It sounds like the band has definitely found their groove by this point in the tour, as it's a very good performance. The sound could use a bit of work; it's very compressed towards the middle frequencies, and sounds a bit muted. An enjoyable boot, but there are better out there.   (1999-04-01)
