Taper's Notes
"The transfer from tape to CDR was direct ie, no noise reduction, compression etc. The songs weren't cut on 1/75th second intervals, so most of the song transitions had a slight gap (<1/75 of a sec) that I cut out at zero crossings around that gap to make the discs seamless." Given this, the neutral EQ settings, and the corrected speed, this is a must for your collection. It's not quite as good as the Milwaukee show but it ranks right up there with the best of them from the pre-DAT era of live recordings. Thanks to the taper for doing such a phenomenal job with this recording and for sharing it. It goes without saying that this Atlas Productions release is for TRADE ONLY. (2003-06-12)
Galt Speaks (Audio - 8)
This version of this show is a re-master of the one that has recently begun circulating among traders. I was told by the person that traded me this show that it came from the master cassettes. I believe that he was one person removed from the taper himself. Upon first listen, it is self evident that this is a master quality recording. About the show.....Fist of all, the taper, who transferred this show from the master cassettes to CDR deserves all the credit. He did an excellent job of getting the levels just right. The transfer was very clean with little if any errors. I only needed to make some minor EQ adjustments. My goal was to smooth out the frequencies to achieve a basic flat EQ. The only inherent "problem" with the version that has been recently circulating is that it runs too fast. I spent a good amount of time correcting the speed. As a result, the track times on this version will be a bit longer. Lastly, no noise reduction or compression/normalization was used on this version. (2003-06-12)
LeeGeddy (Audio - 7.5)
A very nice sounding show with overall flat sound. The bass is nice in some places, but the highs sound "tinny" throughout the majority of the show. I'd personally would give this a VG+/EX- rating. Nice job with finding the master source for this show. A worthy addition to my collection. (2003-06-12)
