Rusher Man

I have to agree with both LeeGeddy & Dan. This show & Reflected Light are great shows. I must say a great job by the tapers, all instruments are heard equally & in my ears a perfect mix. It's very tough to choose which of the two is better, I feel they are equal & if you like slightly a little more bass then I recommend Reflected Light. In all honesty, I've been listening to these two for about 4 days & it is a dead heat in overall quality & it's probably because the tapers were so close to each other that night. Both of these sources are a must have for all fans & thanks to the tapers, Sirius Records & Digital Reproductions for doing such a great job on these shows.    (2003-11-30)

When reviewing a recording, I always like to let my ears do the talking for me and develop that initial feeling when hearing something for the first time. This is an excellent recording!! Very balanced with pronounced mid punch (which I have always enjoyed in the mix). There are just the right amounts of musical "stuff" to make this show a gem on anyone's plate.

Now for the comparison of this recording to the other Mansfield (CS HEB > Oade SBM > Oade M1) that's in circulation. Personally, it's comparing apples to oranges with the only common denominator being the band's performance that night in July. Both recordings stand tall on their own merits. Reflected Light (RL) has that tremendous power in the bass range along with the crispness in the highs, but in contrast to Earthly Luminescence (EL), vocal is not as pronounced along with the mid bass. EL's sound is more....focused, if you will, and has more definition given the type of mics used.? Simply, EL is an excellent recording in my book and will get much play in my cd player!!    (2003-11-30)

Wow, what a source. Taper did an excellent job capturing this show. Highly recommended. EL and RL both have there merits. EL is a very focused recording with stronger bass (perhaps a bit too strong if you have a subwoofer!). RL is more open, wide sounding with more highend and midrange. Either way, how can you lose?    (2003-11-30)
