This recording came from the DAT master tape.? Slightly boomy in my opinion, otherwise a straightforward recording capturing the sound of the great MGM Grand venue.? Geddy's vocals are upfront in the mix with Neil's drums coming through nice and clear. There is a guy that keeps talking until someone asks him to be quiet during Resist.? Thankfully he obliged. Performance wise, the band puts on an incredible show. Neil delivers one of THE best solos I've witnessed with a varied technique that just floored the entire arena.? Minimal EQ was applied to the original source by slightly boosting the higher frequencies above 6kHz for some crispness that the recording lacked.? From the opening crowd welcoming the band onto the stage, the "cricket chirps" and the Dragon intro and to Geddy's final goodbye, the entire show is captured onto this 3 CDr set. Hope you enjoy this recording.? My personal thanks to Eric H. and Mrs. H. and dedicated to Larry "No-I-Wasn't-Scalping-My-Ticket" S.??    (2002-10-29)

SCF shows the great ambiance the guys are able to create. There is some chattering around, you can hear a couple of dudes commenting on what is going on. During “The Big Money” there is a buddy booing and saying something like “Let him be”. As for the instruments, well, it is quite distant at times with the bass hardly perceived, and at times, you get a very clear perspective of the sound. Alex is very sharp and accurate, and the guys are very compact. The setlist has nothing different to offer except that in “Red Sector A” the keyboard is almost unperceivable until Alex’s solo; it does not have that peculiar keynote. Geddy introduces “The Trees” as a song “we just pulled it out of the closet, yesterday, at first show”; but they perform it as they had done it forever, simply great, and the audience has a good time with it. “Natural Science” has an excellent spot to demonstrate the different paces and the skills the band can perform. Guess what? In “La Villa Strangiato” Alex steals the show and the audience too, and why? He has a terrible cold; fort hat reason, in this segment he chooses a “coughing-talk” and a Micky Jackson parody. “Overture/The Temple of Syrinx”, “Limelight” and “Spirit of Radio” take off and the audience does the rest, enjoy themselves. By the way, what is that on the cover?   (2008-03-04)
