The Digital Dan

A copy of Something Old, Something New missing The Spirit of Radio. Considering that Gypsy Eye has no qualms about copying other people's works, it is strange that they left off "The Spirit of Radio" and cut out some of the between song banter. Doing so dropped it to a 1cd release and cost them the profits of a 2cd release.    (2001-06-24)

The bad news is this isn?t a perfect alternative to ESL. At times the tape is a little rough, this isn?t a complete show, and there seem to be a few splices and/or skips in the music. Also, you can?t hear the audience much and that takes away from the energy of the show. There is quite a bit of hum in between songs, but it really doesn?t annoy me. The good news is we get to hear pre-release ?Limelight? and ?Tom Sawyer? and these alone made it worth getting this disc to me. One way in which this show is different from ESL in a good way is that it sounds pretty ?raw?--particularly Alex?s guitar. It?s definitely worth a listen for any Rush fan, especially because this a rare tour.   (2004-11-13)
